Dear All,

As I look out of my lounge window I can see my next door neighbour has his Christmas lights up already and it is only 2nd December but where has the year gone. Certainly for me it seems to have flown by. I can remember thinking this time last year that retirement at the end of February seemed a life time away. Now it is a distant memory.

I hope that the past year has been a good one for the majority of you but for some it has brought sadness as yet more loved ones and friends have passed away. For others the year has brought illness and if so I hope that you are now on the road to recovery. For myself retirement has been great but very busy and next year looks to be the same.

The majority of us will be looking forward to the festive season. Lesley and I will travel to Scotland to be with our daughter and family over Christmas but our thoughts will be with our eldest daughter serving in Sierra Leone with the RAMC. Hopefully she will be home at the end of January and then we will celebrate Christmas again with her and her family. After New Year, before we know it the next reunion will be on us and I look forward to meeting you there. If you have not yet booked then there is still time but hurry. I am sure it will be a great weekend, Colin has certainly been working hard to make sure it is.

So from Lesley and myself have a Happy Christmas and see you in Stoke on Trent.

Pete Starling
