Next P&P: Provisional dates see below - Provisional venue see below

Dear All,

Just a quick message as still under the weather with this virus thingy doing the rounds. Not quite back on the horse and in the saddle - maybe more side saddle at the moment but getting there.

This message is purely about the next P&P.

As you will know we hold two per year - the next to be arranged for April.

We did discuss future locations/venues at the last P&P and circulated requests via email. To date nothing has been received or proposed. To that end I have contacted a few members and conducted a straw poll re dates/venue/location.

Situation….it was agreed by those contacted that should a location/venue not be forthcoming within the next week (as these things take time to organize) then the fall-back position will be The Royal Court Hotel, Coventry.

The dates suggested will be either 17th - 19th April or 24th - 26th April 2020. These dates will avoid Easter and hopefully most school holidays.

Dave Marshall and Jake Marlee have agreed to visit the Royal Court should the need arise and see what deal can be done but it must be done soon. The location went down well with those who attended the last ‘do’ hence the suggestion of revisiting the Royal Court. All being well the same conference and function management team will still be in place.

We are looking for (as always) a good affordable price (£50 pppn), D, B&B, approximately 25 rooms (possibly more), a private dining room/bar if possible or for at least Saturday evening, Happy Hour prices and a Saturday trip location. I have an aide-memoir of our requirements should anyone require it.

Negotiation is everything. Bob Gramson did a great job last time sadly he didn’t make it to the event to see the fruits of his labour.

In summary… ‘We’ need a proposition by the beginning of next week with a firm commitment or we go ahead with the Royal Court. Time is of the essence.

Take care. Regards Ken
