Next Pint & Pie Gig
NEXT PINT & PIE GIG (PPG)
November 2018
****
Dates: Arrive Friday 9th - Depart: Sunday 11th

Venue: Bosworth Hall Hotel & Spa.

Address: The Park, Market Bosworth, CV13 0LP.

POC at Hotel: Ruth. Hotel Direct Line: 01455 291919.

Rate pppn: £59 (Dinner, B&B).

BOOKING (Please note).

Unlike in previous years we are now required to book via Britannia Central Booking on Telephone No: 0161 9239170.

Quote Booking Code: OTT0091118.

You will be asked for a debit card number. If you do not have a debit card (some don't) then please let me know and I will book on your behalf.

Payment will be made in full at the hotel (unless things change again!).

Many thanks to Dave Marshall for visiting the hotel and doing battle (hand to hand combat) with Ruth.

As you will note the prices are rising and negotiations are becoming tougher, there is now little flexibility even with thumb screws......if you visit the various booking website you will see that we are still getting a good deal with D&BB.

Additional:

All OTTs/ODPs are cordially invited to attend. Please spread the word.

As this is Remembrance Weekend the venue for the Saturday trip is the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) where we will lay a wreath and toast our departed colleagues at the OTT Reunited tree and plaque and pay our respects to Jimmy Harris and Pierre Naya near by.

Many thanks to Derrick Worthington for arranging wreath.

If you have never visited the NMA this is a wonderful opportunity to do so with old friends and colleagues.

On Sunday morning we will join members of the local community in their Service of Remembrance at the Parish Church (reserved seating) and wreath laying in the village square and after at the local hostelry for refreshments hosted by the chairman of the RBL.

Many thanks to Jake Marlee for arranging above.

Finally:

Grateful if you could let me know if you will be attending/would like to but can't confirm at this time ....for pie numbers.

Volunteer for pies please.

IN FLANDERS FIELDS

In Flanders' fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders' fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high,
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders' Fields.

******
Regards
Ken
